John Harris recently went over to Germany with Abie Danter to collect Air from Zierer - possibly the biggest thrill ride ever to travel in the UK.
He has very kindly allowed me the post his photos on here for you all to see this fantastic ride which really does look stunning in very sence of the word!
Here we see Airs main sign. The letters change colour as you can see. Behind the sign is a bank of 6 sodium strobe lights which arte in 3 different colours.
Here is one of the loads which holds the main centre arm. The heaviest load is 72 tons.
This one as you can see holds the seats and that massive counterweight. The counterweight is filled with water during the build up. Blackpools is filled with concrete!
The platforms, air sign and the other half of the main arm are on this load. It took them 5 and a half hours to pull the machine down which is pretty good going for a first attempt!
On this one is the front steps. The ride will arrive in Kirkcaldy, Scotland this Friday.
One of the test rides in Zierer. The ride will feature 7 different ride programes of different settings and speeds for different times of day. The ride time will be around 3 minutes. There is a special short, fast and intence one for Friday nights but will still be a good ride length.
The backs and fronts of the seats feature colour changing LED lighting which will look totally stunning at night!
Finally a photo of Abie and the crew with John on the far left!
